Howard University Hospital Trauma Center
Washington, DC
Date: October 25, 2018
Activities: The Division of Trauma and Critical Care will provide an opportunity for students to tour trauma center, shadow those with their respective professional interests, ask questions about their work (schooling, pros and cons, etc.), and have a first-hand experience with a mock trauma code. This experience will enable students to focus on events after violence has occurred. This program gives a visual to the students of what it means to be a trauma care provider or patient in the hospital - observing patients at each interval of care from initial contact to discharge and ultimately rehabilitation.
